Early Christian Mausoleum Tour

Discover the secrets of the 1,600-year-old painted burial chamber with professional tour guide in English!

There is a hidden, ancient world in the heart of Pécs: the city's Roman past. The burial places of our Roman ancestors, underground burial chambers and tombs rest beneath the surface. Some of them are painted, and their interiors are decorated with biblical scenes and early Christian symbols. Part of this northern cemetery was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2000.
During the tour, we will discover the above-ground and underground Roman world of the Early Christian Mausoleum.
The duration of the programme is approx. 30 minutes.
The guided tour costs 1,000 HUF /person + entrance ticket.
The guided tour does not require prior registration, however, the number of tickets are limited.
